Adam worked for many years for a family-owned heavy civil construction company on the west coast of Newfoundland, and following a sale of the business pivoted to pursue a career in law.

Adam routinely acts on both transactional and litigation matters and has advised and acted for clients on civil litigation and property disputes, business transactions, municipal and development issues, and regulatory and criminal charges. 

Adam has advocated for clients before various administrative tribunals, including professional regulators, municipal regional appeals boards, and the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission, and has had the privilege to appear before the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, and to serve as amicus curiae to the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Adam is a member of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and has served on the LSNL’s ad hoc Land Titles Committee.

Outside his law practice, Adam teaches a course in Canadian Business Law at Memorial University, Grenfell Campus, and is actively involved with several professional and not-for-profit organizations. He is a long-time member and past president of the Canadian Bar Association, Newfoundland and Labrador Branch, and has also served as a board member with the Vine Place Community Centre, the Corner Brook Museum and Archives, the Rotary Club of Corner Brook, the Corner Brook Rotary Music Festival Association, and the Humber River Rowing Club.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland, a Master of Arts degree from Queen’s University, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of New Brunswick.
