Wayne has often been described as being as much of an entrepreneur as a lawyer, and that is reflected in the many complex mandates that his clients and co-investors have asked him to lead or join. He has a broad range of international and domestic business development, restructuring and insolvency experience, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, government relations, contract negotiation and general business law and consulting experience. 

He has acted as lead counsel and strategic advisor on numerous projects in the domestic and international telecommunications; seafood processing and marketing industry; on many domestic and international commercial insolvency and restructuring projects; on energy (oil and gas, wind and hydro electric); transportation matters; and on other complex transactions in various other areas of business.

Wayne has acted as lead counsel for a diversified international telecommunications group, operating in over 40 countries throughout the greater Caribbean, Andean and Central America region and in parts of Europe, including as issuer of high yield debt in the US and International capital markets, on many transactions, involving multiple Billions of US$ in value.

Wayne has also been a senior advisor and lead local counsel for many years to the insurance industry association, numerous insurers, and served as Managing Director of the industry funded uninsured motorist fund. For several decades, he led provincial counsel to one of Canada’s largest chartered banks, and routinely acted on complex financial transactions, assets recovery activities, and related litigation.
